And You—Where Does the Wind Carry You?

“Teach me to be the wind, if only for a moment,” the boy asked, “so we can speak
together of the infinite possibilities of winds and of people.”
    — Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

I recently saw a documentary in the cinema about Dawid Podsiadło’s concert tour.
One day, one screening, a full theater.

Months have passed, yet one song still resonates in my head and heart: “I Ciebie też,
bardzo” (“And You Too, Very Much”).
I knew the song before, but in the cinema I heard it differently. It moved me. It still
    does.

First — the lyrics. Simple. Deep. About the longing for freedom and closeness. About
    being yourself without fear.
Second — the artists. Present. Free. Authentic. Embodying what they sing about.
    True. Unrestrained.
Third — the community. Tens of thousands gathered in stadiums, singing with one
voice. Different, yet for a moment united by something greater than each of us.
Fourth — the reminder. That in my work with myself, with leaders, and with teams, it’s
    about the same things.

    Space. Truth. Authenticity.
Voices that sound stronger when they are tuned together.
Creating space in business for the human being. For emotions. For the courage to be
    oneself.
Freedom — not just freedom from fear, but freedom to act with meaning.

I left the cinema deeply moved. And grateful. For art. For emotions. For people who
create spaces where one can feel more, feel deeper. And for the fact that in my work,
    I too can be myself.

I return to these words, and let myself be moved:

“I know I don’t want to be afraid anymore
I don’t want to dance to the melody I already know
I am free, the wind has carried me away
Far, where milk spills among the stars.”

In a world where we so often rush and walk firmly on the ground—it’s good, at times,
to let ourselves be moved, and carried by the wind.
