Yesterday marked one month since the sudden, tragic passing of Kasia Stoparczyk.
Among friends, we recently shared reflections on her conversations with children, young people, and adults. In those reflections, the word calling appeared.
Her vision, dedication, enthusiasm, joy, warmth, openness, and directness were for me a “portal” into the reality she created — for others and for herself.
I don’t know how Kasia herself thought about it, but I believe she felt that the world she longed to see around her was worth the effort. In my view, building such a world was her calling.
Her work, interviews, broadcasts, books, and meetings were all expressions of this intention. For me, Kasia was — and remains — what I call spirit-in-action.
I believe she had clarity about who she was and why she was here. With that clarity, she transformed reality — and found joy in life.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kasia in person, and from that meeting I cherish a wonderful keepsake — a book with her dedication.
Kasia, thank you for the conversation and the inspiration. I will carry them within me — and they will carry me.
