What’s Playing Inside You?

Continuing the musical thread from my last post — some song lyrics could easily find their way into a notebook of reflections after a development session.

    “I’m in a rebellious state
I feel it growing stronger day by day
When my heart catches the rhythm
    I won’t say stop, I won’t say wait
I want to float on the wind
I can be whoever I want to be
I’m flying where the land is unknown
Reaching where the eye can’t see”

    — Roxie Węgiel

    Or:

“I just wanna scream at the top of my lungs
Shout it from the rooftop loud
I speak my heart and I know I can be
    Anyone I want to be”

This is the attitude of courage. Awakening. The conscious choice to walk your own path — even against the wind.

    On the other hand:

“There are some — it’s no joke
    For whom you’re worth
    Less than zero”

    — Lady Pank

Here we hear more disappointment with the world. Wounded dignity.
Yet it’s good to remember that our value depends neither on the outcome of what we do nor on what others think of us.

    And then:

“Let me once again start from the beginning
Give me the chance once more”

    — Tadeusz Nalepa

A cry for a second chance. Humility. Hope.
But perhaps most importantly — that cry should first be directed to ourselves.

My wish for us all: may we always dance to the rhythm that plays in our soul.
